Workers are needed to seed, transplant, maintain and harvest various vegetable crops, mushrooms, and fruits. Workers must have a working knowledge of and ability to perform various tasks required in greenhouse tomato production, including harvesting, grading, suckering, lowering, clipping and thinning. Workers will perform fieldwork including, planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing and other tasks required in the planting, maintaining, and harvesting of various vegetable and fruit crops as well as collect eggs. Workers will sort, wash, pack and otherwise prepare various crops for storage and shipping, as well as be capable of transporting various crops from field to farm and/or retail stand with provided harvest vehicle. Workers will load and unload trucks and other farm vehicles, setup and operate various irrigation equipment, and cut brush and other vegetation in and around fields, buildings and equipment. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer\'s fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver\'s license, no worker will be rejected for not having a driver\'s license. The employer will provide 1 day of training and 2 days of work for the worker to satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in performing the duties described in this job description. Workers must be able to work in various extreme weather conditions from damp and cold spring and fall days to hot and humid summer days. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Daily beginning and ending times will vary depending on crop and other conditions. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform assigned duties. Workers may require to work 9 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Saturday. Workers must be available to work weekends. Workers will be given 30 minutes for lunch and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English. Due to safety concerns, there will be NO cell phones used during working hours. Workers must be willing to keep a positive work attitude and be respectful towards other workers.
