Job Description Benefits: $70K/yr, railroad retirement, pension, 401k match, health benefits, vacation, relocation for those who qualify. Work Environment: Outdoor/Field, on call, weekend, holiday work required As a certified and commissioned police officer, Special Agents with the Norfolk Southern Police Department work closely with communities, other law enforcement, and government agencies to advance railway safety and ensure the security of our infrastructure, community, and employees. Principal Duties: * Patrol terminals, yards, right of ways, and other railroad property to ensure security. * Safeguard property, employees, patrons, and goods in transit * Conduct inspections, background check, and criminal investigations as assigned. * Implement prevention techniques, inspect friend, apply security devices, and conduct surveillances to deter crimes against NS property. * Respond to police calls for service and act as a first responder, facilitating effective coordination with fire and rescue, hazmat, and environmental, law enforcement, and or other emergency services.
