Robert Half Audit Manager in East Hollywood, California

Description

Our client is a prominent entertainment company located in the vibrant community of East Hollywood, CA. They specialize in film production, talent management, or media distribution. As operations expand, we are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to oversee our internal audit function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing, preferably within the entertainment industry, and possess excellent leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Internal Audit Planning: Develop annual internal audit plans based on risk assessment and organizational priorities, ensuring coverage of key business processes and controls. Audit Execution: Lead and execute internal audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, testing, and reporting, in accordance with detail-oriented standards and audit methodologies.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess key risks and controls across various business functions, evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Compliance Review: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual agreements, and internal policies and procedures, conducting audits to assess adherence and mitigate compliance risks.

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains, driving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and mitigate risks. Fraud Investigation: Investigate allegations of fraud, misconduct, or irregularities, working closely with management and legal counsel to gather evidence, assess findings, and recommend remedial actions.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior management and key stakeholders, providing insights and guidance to support decision-making and risk management efforts. Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of internal auditors, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to foster detail-oriented growth and maintain high standards of quality and integrity.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or other relevant detail oriented certification (preferred).

  • Minimum of 6 years of auditing experience, with significant experience in the entertainment industry preferred.

  • Strong understanding of auditing principles, practices, and techniques, with a focus on internal controls and risk management.

  • Knowledge of entertainment industry-specific regulations, contractual agreements, and business practices.

  • Experience with audit software and data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Tableau) preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
