The Senior Financial Consultant is a unique position within Optum with primary responsibilities of working with operational and financial data for pricing of various Optum Insight products.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pricing support for OptumInsight Payer software and services product suite

  • Pull and manipulate operational and financial data

  • Maintain and enhance pricing models and templates

  • Effectively work with cross-functional teams that include Finance, Sales, Product and Operations

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business mission through effective interactions with upper management, and strong working relationships within and outside of Finance

  • Review customer contracts to ensure accuracy and risk minimization

  • Prepare financial analysis and present deal economics, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of data and / or financial analysis

  • Experience presenting to leadership or key stakeholders

  • Negotiation experience

  • Proficiency with MS Excel

  • Skilled at influencing multiple constituencies

  • Ability to work across a large and complex matrix of stakeholders, coupled with the ability to thrive in an environment of change and fluctuating priorities

  • Ability to analyze complex data and make decisions and clearly articulate reasons for making a decision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Pricing experience with solid knowledge of financial concepts

  • Experience working with Sales teams

  • Experience with Salesforce.com

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to think creatively on solutions to complex issues and develop viable alternatives

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
