Description

The purpose of this class within the organization is to operate one or several types of heavy equipment. This job works under general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs, replaces, and repairs drainage pipes, catch basins, sidewalks, driveways and sod.

  • Loads dump trucks, pick up trucks with trailers.

  • Mix mud for concrete side walks.

  • Lay block; Lay pipe driveways.

  • Set up and maintain MOT (Maintenance of Traffic).

  • Grind down sidewalk.

  • Cut down trees from right of way.

  • Unclog catch basins of debris.

  • Clean pipe ends by hand.

  • Performs related work as assigned.

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one year of heavy equipment operation or closely related experience.

  • Possession of a valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and an acceptable driving record is required.

  • Possession of IMOT certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within six months of hire date is required. (Training and testing will be provided in-house).

  • This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug & Alcohol Workplace testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-parts 40 and /or 382.

  • The work days and hours are Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm.
