Job Description

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementation and execution of the Asset and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The position will work closely with the ITSM tools team to integrate various auto-discovery solutions, as well as implementing processes for data elements that require manual entry. The scope of the role includes both IT and business related hardware and software assets and configuration items. The analyst works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work, and within established work parameters for the unit. The position is responsible for performing professional work requiring knowledge of process modeling, statistics, operations research, MS Office applications, as well as basic data mining methodologies. The analyst also develops and presents professional presentations that communicate to cross functional groups and various job grades specific to Asset Management activities.

Job Duties:

  • Assists in the design and population of the Asset and Configuration Management Database.

  • Assists in the design and establishment of asset management policies and procedures.

  • Responds to and resolves Asset and Configuration Management related incidents within the ITSM tool.

  • Responds to and fulfills Asset and Configuration Management related service requests within the ITSM tool.

  • Works directly with product owners to ensure the appropriate assets, CIs and related attributes are available within the Asset and Configuration Management Database.

  • Develops regular and ad-hoc reports regarding the status of the Asset and Configuration Management Database.

  • Performs regular audits of the accuracy of the Asset and Configuration Management Database.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and reports terms and agreements involving asset contracts.

  • Mines data required to support various asset management projects.

  • Provides superior customer solutions.

  • Provides consulting to internal and external customers.

  • Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in Economics or a related financial or technical field

  • Data and statistical analysis experience

  • Process improvement and implementation experience

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • ServiceNow Asset Management Training

  • ServiceNow Administration Training

  • Proven experience in Data Mining and utilization analysis

  • Experienced with process model development
