Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for designing, implementing , supporting and monitoring Release Management software (i.e., TFS running in the KCS data center). Primary focus on configuration management, release management, software builds and deployment automation.

Job Duties:

  • Responds to customer service requests and provides production support coverage supporting KCS release management platforms (TFS).

  • Assists with incident and problem management.

  • Manages change and configuration for applications running in production and non-production environments.

  • Provides 7X24 support

  • Configures and supports production, development, test and DR environments on supported

  • platforms.

  • Customizes the TFS build definitions to suite to the KCS build and deployment culture

  • Manages TFS application and system infrastructure patch releases, including enhancements to current application functionality.

  • Creates, maintains, and updates platform documentation and standard operating procedures.

  • Designs and implements various automated release plans to support Dev, QA, and Prod environments

  • Participates in disaster recovery preparedness efforts.

  • Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems or a technology related discipline

  • Two (2) years of Windows Server/Unix/Linux systems administration experience

  • Two (2) years experience with CI, Test, and Build Systems - ANT, MAVEN, TFS, Jenkins

  • Two (2) years hands on with TFS application deployment, configuration and support

  • Two (2) years experience with Chef and Docker orchestrator

  • Four (4) years experience with Release Management processes and procedures

  • Four (4) years programing language Ruby, Shell, Bash, Python and PowerShell

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced application troubleshooting skills, ability to resolve complex problems

  • Ability to identify, isolate, and resolve production and non-production system problems, service requests and support processes

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, focused on documentation

  • Ability to deal with stressors resulting from project deadlines and multi-tasked environment

  • Knowledge of DB Oracle 11x, MySQL, Server 2008 abd MongoDB

  • Knowledge of integration platforms MuleSoft , SSIS and Informatica

  • General knowledge of virtualization platforms, VMware, ESX, Citrix and Oracle VM

  • Understanding of Web logic, Web Sphere and Tomcat

  • Follow designated KCS architecture, industry best practices for solutions for the business

  • Responsibility, accountability and credibility in all work and research assignments and sustain the ability to be highly self-motivated and directed

  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocol
