1898 & Co., a division of Burns & McDonnell, is seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Solution Architect to join the Enterprise Systems Business Line within the Technology Consulting Practice of 1898 & Co. We seek a qualified Maximo practitioner to provide application, technology, architecture solutions, and services to our clients. ESI Technology Consulting focuses on providing our clients with a variety of consulting services, offerings, capabilities, and strategies delivering high value to our clients through a variety of leading technologies and practice disciplines. The Maximo solution architect shall possess strong functional and technical knowledge of the IBM Maximo EAM solution. The candidate must have strong project execution capabilities, strong leadership and collaboration capabilities, excellent communication skills, a focus on continuous improvement and enterprise innovation, and strong attention to detail while delivering high-quality work to our clients. The Maximo Solution Architect is responsible for providing strategic guidance, road mapping, research, planning, and leading practices to our client’s executive leaders to make investment decisions aligned with the organization’s long-term vision.

This position will participate and lead a variety of Enterprise Transformation Programs focused on Maximo solutions through all delivery lifecycle stages of a typical software implementation or upgrade. The role will lead efforts to identify and deliver Maximo EAM solutions to our clients with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, industry best practices, and continuous improvement.

  • Apply industry experience and leading practices to architect, design, develop and implement Maximo solutions to support complex business requirements.

  • Lead or assist with program estimating, planning, and budgeting efforts and be accountable for the program/project delivery execution.

  • Support Analysis, Design, Build, Test, Triaging defects, Configuration, and Deployment activities.

  • Support Enterprise Program Management activities utilizing various methodologies such as but not limited to Waterfall and Agile methods.

  • Responsible for the successful completion of the project per the budget, scope, quality, and attainment of the business objectives. In addition, supervise the overall project status and progress and ensure all scheduled milestones and delivery dates are met.

  • Responsible for overall project quality of deliverables.

  • Support human performance architects to evaluate training and performance support needs and design the training and performance support products.

  • Act as an application architect and solution architect, with responsibilities on the application and technical architecture teams.

  • Assist with or lead the business process design activities to drive out the complete application requirements: functional, quality, integration, and security.

  • Work with the application designer to create a high-level design of an end-to-end integration solution that provides a common structure for mapping the data between the applications.

  • Based on the activity and data flow diagrams, create an inventory of all cross-application interactions or interfaces, referred to as business events or messages.

  • Validate that the application requirements meet overall business process needs, are within the project scope, and are internally consistent.

  • Validate that the integration solution and integration architecture designs utilize the integration architecture components appropriately.

  • Lead or assist with completing high-level project communications and status reporting to the supporting executive team.

  • Assist with providing a central point of contact for all project interdependencies, internal and external.

  • Assist with timely development and implementation of all stages of the system.

  • Use Project execution experience and knowledge to provide input and influence project execution processes and quality assurance/quality control protocols.

  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Applicable work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience providing enterprise architecture strategies, enterprise integration solutions, and services leveraging various applications and technical platforms.

  • Preferred: 5 years working in the Electric Utility Industry or equivalent.

  • Excellent enterprise architecture and integration skills, including data architecture, cloud architecture, middleware, and other architectural methods and practices.

  • Experience with large-scale enterprise transformation projects using industry enterprise architecture strategy solutions and middleware technologies.

  • Strong ability to influence or lead enterprise integration project execution.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expert knowledge of application data analysis and transformation at various layers of the architecture and possess the ability to present data transformation during various stages of the architecture.

  • Experience with leading-edge applications, middleware technology, and solutions utilizing data strategies.

  • Experience with a variety of project execution methodologies including but not limed to Waterfall and Agile.

  • Experience developing enterprise architecture strategies focusing on data, applications, and technologies for clients in the utilities industry.
