Sr. Product Manager
The Sr. Product Manager position is responsible for managing multiple software applications throughout their lifecycle. This role will also support the Director of Application Development in the creation of a center of excellence around Product Management. This role is an intersection between business operations, technology solutions and the end-user experience. The Sr. Product Manager must possess skills in vendor management, business analysis, project management and application management to be successful in this role. The Sr. Product Manager should be passionate about optimizing applications to achieve the business goals while maximizing return on investment, shall be knowledgeable of technology to assess levels of effort and serves as an advocate for the processes and products across business and IT.
Manages the overall application vendor relationship(s) and ensure their delivery, including the management of application support agreements, budgets and requests for new work, changes and production support.
Works with the business to set a vision for the product and develop/maintain a product roadmap for KCS. Understands the vendor' roadmap for their product and how it will impact KCS.
Consults with the business, IT and the vendor to review new product features and improve on existing ones while identifying opportunities for KCS.
Acts as the SME for the product and champions all change requests for the product.
Owns the health of the system (software and Hardware) and works in partnership with business and IT leaders to obtain and commit necessary resources at the appropriate time, level, and expertise to support the product
Helps to establish processes and provides input on Product Management to develop a center of excellence around the discipline.
Manages projects as needed for small enhancements/projects, minor releases and overall risk and issue management. Collaborates with project managers on larger projects to ensure delivery of technology solutions on time and on budget.
Establishes goals, monitors performance and provides feedback through a balanced scorecard (vendor & KCS performance)

Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline
Seven (7) years of professional experience
Five (5) years of experience in Product Management or related technical discipline
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ten (10) years of experience in Product Management or related technical discipline
