Amazon Business Intelligence Manager, Global Logistics in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Amazon's Global Logistics team is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager who will help build the next generation of analytical solutions & automation for our import operations team across EU & NA regions.

Global Logistics is a team of highly experienced logistics professionals, carrier specialists, program managers and tech professionals focused on improving the speed and reliability of Amazon’s cross-border logistics capabilities. Leveraging the capabilities of world-class logistics providers and internal Amazon supply chain solutions, Global Mile increases selection and lowers cost for our customers.

You will be leading the BI/Analytics team which supports import operations in North America & Europe (i.e. global import shipments into North America & Europe) by providing the business with key visibility tools/products/automation, enabling stakeholders (e.g. logistics coordinators, program managers, supply chain leaders) to make timely data-driven decisions to optimize speed, cost and reliability of global import shipments. Your team, as well as your key stakeholders, will be based both in Europe & US. You will be partnering as well with other tech teams (e.g. Data Engineering) to continue to evolve the data infrastructure of your team to allow your team to deliver results in the most scalable manner as well as address any upstream issues.

The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in creating & maintaining large datasets and enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. They are an expert in building data pipelines and has hands-on knowledge/experience in managing structured databases/data warehouses (e.g. Amazon Redshift) and other AWS technologies (e.g. S3, Lambda). They passionately partner with customers, stakeholders and other tech teams (e.g. data engineering) to identify strategic opportunities in the field of data analytics & engineering. They will also have experience managing/coaching others, providing thought leadership on priorities, technical designs and technology decisions, as well as setting up necessary team mechanisms. They will have a solid track record of being able to influence both business and tech stakeholders on business & technology decisions.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage & evolve the data infrastructure of the team and provide thought leadership on the design & development of data data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports and dashboards

• Actively manage the prioritization, timeline and deliverables of projects; anticipate risks and manage the expectations of stakeholders/leaders

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations. Additionally, working with owners of data source systems to understand capabilities/limitations and to address data issues.

• Adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

• Research and implement new approaches to enhance existing technical and business processes to improve customer experience and scalability

• Develop & coach people in the team

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with ETL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing a data or BI team

  • Experience leading and influencing the BI strategy of your team or organization

  • Experience in the data/BI space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with very large data warehousing environment

  • Experience in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding
