Henry Schein Senior Organizational Development Specialist in Melville, New York

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating educational programs and processes that serve to strengthen and grow capabilities for staff and management team members throughout the organization. This role also serves to support talent and succession planning initiatives with responsibilities for the facilitation of talent reviews. Responsibilities in this role also includes a full scope of teambuilding and assessments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, facilitate and implement customized, in-house educational workshops to improve individual and overall organizational performance, inclusive of supporting various global time zones
  • Partner with members of human resources, business leaders and other Team Schein Members to conduct needs assessments, and suggest appropriate strategies and courses of action for addressing these needs
  • Create educational resources including presentations, workbooks, guides and job aids.
  • Research, curate and benchmark for best practices
  • Help plan and communicate workshop calendars
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques, such as team exercises, group discussions, lectures and role playing activities, both virtually and in-person
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational offerings; making ongoing appropriate adjustments to each workshop as needed
  • Partner with business leaders and HR Business partners to facilitate talent reviews, driving talent planning participation and the identification and development of talent. Engage in efforts to support building succession and a strong, diverse leadership pipeline.
  • Collaborate with fellow organization development team members to institute and manage programs that support the following human capital strategies: career development planning, career path support, 360 Assessments, Predictive Index Team Building, StrengthsFinder sessions
  • Responsible to maintain all marketing and branding materials (MySchein, TEAMS, etc)
  • Participate in special projects as required

KNOWLEDGE:

Experienced level professional; knowledge and full understanding of one or more disciplines and good knowledge of organization, processes and customers. Good judgment, strong analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity required to perform tasks. Know and apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field. Resolve issues and assignments in creative ways. Some assignments may be broad in nature. May serve as a resource to others to resolve complex problems and issues. May take on project co-lead role as required.

COMPLEXITY:

Work on problems of diverse scope and moderate impact where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors. Use best practices and knowledge of business strategy to solve complex problems; recommend solutions to business challenges. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

SUPERVISION:

Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments. May act as a resource to provide informal guidance for TSMs with less experience. Assignments can be broad in nature.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 5 to 7 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience. 2-3 years proven facilitation experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus. May hold one or more industry certifications; professional certification may be required to advance. Graduate Degree in business, I/O psychology, training or organizational development is preferred.

  • Effectively organizes, plans, and prioritizes work
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, MS TEAMS and Word is required
  • Some experience with learning management systems and/or online learning software is preferred
  • Personality assessment instrument certification is preferred - Predictive Index
  • 360-degree survey instrument certification and/or equivalent experience in administering and delivering 360-degree survey feedback is preferred
  • Change Management certification preferred
  • Familiarity with ADDIE - SAM model, ATD models, ADKAR, etc...

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel can escalate to 25% of time. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $71,993 to $125,987 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
