AutoCAD Technician Comfort Systems USA MidAtlantic, LLC is a leading mechanical contracting company located in South Boston, VA that installs full mechanical systems for Educational, Institutional, Commercial and Industrial customers in southern Virginia and northern North Carolina. We are looking to add an experienced AutoCAD technician to our growing team! The AutoCAD Technician is an integral part of the planning and design phase of our operation that enables pre-fabrication of system components in our fabrication facilities. Technicians interface with other team members to develop both 2D and 3D drawings that meet the contractual requirements of our customers and optimize the mechanical system installations we perform. The ideal candidate will have experience with various software programs such as AutoCAD MEP, REVIT, and MS Office programs; experience drawing and detailing Plumbing, Mechanical Piping, and HVAC systems; and the ability to prepare isometric and plan view drawings from hand sketches. AutoCAD technicians are responsible for:

• Attending job turnover meetings to gain an understanding of the overall job scope.
• Reading and comprehending job specifications, job contract drawings, and equipment submittals.
• Designing equipment room and building systems layouts using contract drawings, specifications and equipment submittals to optimize piping and duct systems.
• Understanding how to use mechanical and electrical code resource materials to incorporate required clearances and other minimum standards to meet Building Code requirements.
• Preparing coordination drawings with other trades.
• Participating in BIM projects as required.
• Making field jobsite visits to gather data through the use of hand measurements, laser measuring devices and digital scanning equipment.
• Assisting jobsite personnel with layout of systems utilizing Trimble Rapid Positioning System equipment.
• Adhering to all company standards as defined in the employee handbook.
• Performing all other duties of this job function as assigned.
