This Position is for a Maintenance Generalist MG05 1st Shift with a company located in Vicksburg.

Job Summary: Maintenance Generalist MG05 - 2nd Shift. Location: Vicksburg, MS - Ceres Plant. Position: Maintenance Technician. Work Shift: 2nd Shift. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties: This position is responsible for, but not limited to: Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction. Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems. Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations. Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule. Complete appropriate paperwork and reports. Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs. Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs. Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision. Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision. Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity.  It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs. 

Education and Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 3 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least three years). Must have PSM experience. Previous poultry processing experience preferred. Computer Skills:  Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel. Communication Skills:  Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical. Safety: Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.

Rehire Consideration: 180 days (6 months) waiting period. Max of two previous Tyson employments to be consider for hire.
