Responsibilities Operate engineering construction equipment, such as graders, tractors with bulldozer, front-end loaders, backhoes, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments to push, pull, fill, pile, or load gravel or earth. Operate heavy trucks and vehicles with manual transmissions, dual transmissions, and multiple gear boxes on a routine basis. Perform preventive maintenance and make minor repairs and adjustments on automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment. Use blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or work orders associated with road maintenance or earth moving to produce work meeting such specifications. Operate heavy equipment to complete excavation, backfilling, and grading of construction materials to specifications as required on such projects as roads, ditches, campgrounds, minor and major culverts, and other construction projects. Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment, heavy trucks, and tractors/trailers such as but not limited to greasing, adding fluids, and changing cutting edges/wear surfaces.
